The City of Chubbuck Water Department provides water for about 14,125 people living in the Chubbuck area, Bannock County, Idaho. The City of Chubbuck Water Department draws water from five wells drilled into the Lower Portneuf River and Eastern Snake Plain Aquifers. The wells are located throughout the city. Well No. 4 has a special treatment system and can treat the water using an air stripping process to remove high concentrations of the only man-caused contaminant in the water- Tetrachloroethylene (PCE or PERC).
