The City of Lewiston Water and Sewer, a public community water system under the City Department of Public Works, provides water for about 15,001 residents living in the area of Lewiston, a city and the county seat of Nez Perce County, Idaho. Established in 1861, the City of Lewiston Water and Sewer collects water from a blend of sources: 95% is surface water from the Clearwater River and its drainage basin, and the remainder is met by three groundwater wells drilled into the local aquifers beneath the district area.
