The City of Oak Harbor Water, a public community water system under the City Department of Public Works – Water Division, provides water for about 24,067 residents living in the area of Oak Harbor, Washington. Established in 1915, the Oak Harbor City Water System is currently obtaining its supply from the City of Anacortes Water Treatment Plant (AWTP), which uses a surface water source, Skagit River. The Skagit River is the largest river basin draining into Puget Sound and its major tributaries are the Cascade, Sauk, Suiattle, and Baker Rivers.
