The City of Granite Falls Water supplies water to about 6,926 residents living in the Granite Falls area of Snohomish County, Washington. The City of Granite Falls' Water Department obtains water from the Snohomish County PUD, which purchases water from the City of Everett. The water comes from Spada Reservoir, located 30 miles east of Everett near the headwaters of the Sultan River in the Sultan Basin Watershed. The water is pumped to the Chaplain Reservoir and the Everett Water Treatment Plant. The Granite Water Department also collects water from two groundwater wells on the northeast side of the City of Lake Stevens, which is then treated, fluoridated, and chlorinated. The water from both sources is combined, metered, and the pressure is reduced from 160 PSI to between 60 and 90 PSI before being delivered over a distance of 13 miles to over 1,500 connections.
