The Lakehaven Water and Sewer District, a municipal corporation of the State of Washington, provides water for about 116,906 residents living in the Federal Way area. Established in 1956, the Lakehaven Water and Sewer District delivers 78% of drinking water through partnership with the Regional Water Supply System (RWSS), and 22% from wells within the water district boundary, pumped from three aquifers identified as the Redondo Milton Channel Aquifer, the Intermediate Aquifer System (Mirror Lake & Eastern Upland Aquifers), and the Federal Way Deep Aquifer.
