Established in 1953, the City of Buena Park Water currently obtains its supply via the purchase of the following of sources: groundwater from natural underground aquifer beneath north and central Orange County managed by Orange County Water District (OCWD); and surface water imported from Northern California and the Colorado River by the Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC) via the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWDSC).
