The Fallbrook Public Utility District (FPUD) provides water for about 34,096 residents living in the area of Fallbrook, California. Established in 1922, the Fallbrook Public Utility District currently obtains its supply via purchase from the San Diego County Water Authority, which purchases much of its water from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. This imported water is received from two sources: the Colorado River water from Lake Havasu to Southern California, and the Feather River water in northern California through the Delta to State Water Project. FPUD also pumps groundwater from Capra Well whenever available.
