The City of Oxnard Water provides water for about 205,489 residents living in the Oxnard area. Established in 1903, the City of Oxnard Water collects from a combination of surface and groundwater sources such as (1) imported water from the Calleguas Municipal Water District (CMWD), (2) regional water purchased from the United Water Conservation District (UWCD), and (3) water locally produced by City wells, through the City’s Groundwater Recovery Enhancement and Treatment (GREAT) Program Desalter.
