The Padre Dam Water District provides water for about 90,529 residents living in the area of Santee City, California. Established in 1976, the Padre Dam Water currently obtains its supply via purchase from Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWDSC) and San Diego County Water Authority (SDCWA), to supply blended surface water from the Colorado River System, the California State Water Project, ocean water from the desalination plant and local watersheds within San Diego County.
