The Valley Center Municipal Water District (VCMWD) provides water for about 25,766 residents living in the Valley Center area, California. Established in 1874, the Valley Center Municipal Water District obtains its supply from purchased surface water via the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan) through the aqueduct facilities owned and operated by the San Diego County Water Authority. The San Diego County Water Authority derives its water mostly from the Colorado River and the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
