The Victorville Water District, a self-governed subsidiary district of the City of Victorville, provides water for about 123,795 residents living in the Victorville area. Established in 1931, the Victorville Water District collects water from groundwater source, a local underground basin called the Alto Subarea of the Upper Mojave River Basin. Additional well water is also purchased from the Mojave Water Agency.
