The Yucaipa Valley Water District (YVWD), an independent special utility district, provides water for about 53,101 residents living in the area of Yucaipa, California. Established in 1965, the City of Yucaipa Valley Water District is currently obtaining its supply from a combination of sources: groundwater through local wells; and surface water collected from Birch Creek, Oak Glen Creek, Adams Tunnel and Clark Tunnel. Additionally, the District purchases imported water from the State Water Project through the San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District and the San Gorgonio Pass Water Agency.
