The McPherson Board of Public Utilities provides water for about 13,061 people living in the McPherson area. Established in 1969, the McPherson Board of Public Utilities collects water from Equus Beds Aquifer. The McPherson BPU's water system has a water treatment facility, 12 collector wells, around 110 miles of water pipes, and a pump station.
