The Town of Elkton Water, a public community water system under the Town Department of Public Works, provides water for about 15,625 residents living in the area of Elkton, a town in and the county seat of Cecil County, Maryland. Established in 1787, the Town of Elkton Water System currently obtains its supply from a blend of three sources namely, surface water from the Big Elk Creek, groundwater from four wells that pump from the Potomac aquifer, and interconnection with Artesian Water Maryland, Inc., which uses water from the Big Elk Creek.
