The Town of Belmont Water Department, through the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA), provides water for about 24,254 residents living in the Belmont area, Massachusetts. Established in 1859, the Town of Belmont purchases its water supply from the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA). MWRA's water comes from the Quabbin and Wachusett Reservoirs. Water from the Ware River can also add to the supply at times.
