The Town of Groveland Water supplies water to about 6,326 residents living in the Groveland area of Essex County. Water sources include rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and wells. The Town of Groveland Water Department collects water from three gravel-packed wells - Well 1 at 462 Main Street, Well 3 behind the Pines Recreation Area, and Well 4 downstream from Well 3. The water is chemically treated with Sodium Hydroxide for corrosion control and pH adjustment, Calcium Hypochlorite for disinfection, and Fluoride for dental health, and it is delivered via 36.5 miles of water mains to the customers.
