The Littleton Water Department supplies water to about 9,561 residents living in the Littleton area of Middlesex County. The Littleton Water Department collects water from shallow sand and gravel deposits within the Beaver Brook and Bennett's Brook watersheds. The water is withdrawn via four production wells into the Spectacle Pond Treatment Plant and treated to remove iron and manganese. A low dose of chlorine is added to the water to reduce bacteria and other contaminants.
