The North Chelmsford Water District supplies water to about 7,541 residents living in the Chelmsford and North Chelmsford areas in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Founded in 1906, the North Chelmsford Water District collects water from four groundwater gravel-packed wells and two Bed Rock Wells known as Bomil Well Field. The wells pump water from the Merrimack River Basin and replenish from Cold Spring Brook and Stony Brook. The Water Department has two emergency connections with the Chelmsford Water District and two emergency connections with the City of Lowell and operates two storage tanks that have a storage capacity of 5.9 million gallons. The North Chelmsford Water District uses Ultra Water Filtration System and chemicals such as Chlorine Dioxide, Potassium Hydroxide, Poly Aluminum Chloride, and chlorine to treat its water before distribution.
