The Onset Fire District provides water services to about 5,392 residents living in the Wareham area of Plymouth County, Massachusetts. Founded in 1890, the Onset Water Department collects water from five groundwater wells - Well #3, #4, #5, #6, & #7 located Off Red Brook Road, and it treats the water with 35% sodium hydroxide to adjust the pH to a non-corrosive level. The District has an inactive 8-inch water main interconnection with Buzzard's Bay Water System for emergency water supply.
