The Town of West Springfield Water, under the City Public Works Department, provides water for about 28,391 residents living in the West Springfield area, Massachusetts. Established in 1660, the Town of West Springfield Water currently obtains its supply from a groundwater source, four wells located in Southwick, Massachusetts that pump from the Great Brook section of the Barne’s Aquifer. The Town also has a contract to purchase from the Springfield Water & Sewer Commission, which uses a surface supply known as Cobble Mountain Reservoir, located in Blandford, MA, when the need arises.
