The Whitman Water System, a public community water system under the Town Department of Public Works - Water and Sewer, provides water for about 15,216 residents living in the area of Whitman, a town in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. Established in 1875, the Whitman Water System currently obtains its supply via purchase from the City of Brockton’s water system which uses surface water from Silver Lake. This supply can be supplemented with water from Pembroke's Furnace Pond and Halifax's Monponsett Pond.
