Pennsylvania American Water, a subsidiary of American Water Works Company, Inc. (NYSE: AWK), is the largest investor-owned water utility providing water and wastewater services for about 12,560 residents living in Carbondale, a city in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. Established in 1886, Pennsylvania American Water System currently obtains its supply of surface water from two creeks namely: Conodoguinet, which flows 104.5 originating from the Kittatinny Ridge and eventually into the Susquehanna River near Harrisburg covering over 500 square miles, and Yellow Breeches, approximately 218 square miles in Cumberland and York Counties.
