The Dillsburg Area Authority provides water service to about 8,506 residents of Dillsburg, Carroll Township, Franklin Township, Franklintown, and Monroe Township in York County, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1900, the Dillsburg Area Authority collects water from five wells ranging from 160 feet to 300 feet deep. The water originates from the Tomstown Formation, Limestone Fanglomerate, Gettysburg Formation, and Elbrook Formation aquifers and is chemically treated with sodium hypochlorite, caustic soda, and zinc pyrophosphate before distribution.
