The Anne Arundel County Bureau of Utility Operations, under the County Department of Public Works, provides water for about 290,606 residents living in the Broadneck-Glen Burnie area, Maryland. Established in 1650, the Anne Arundel County Utilities currently obtains its supply from groundwater sources, 12 water treatment facilities drawing water from the Patapsco, Patuxent, and Aquia Aquifers.
