The Town of Brookline Water, under the City Department of Public Works - Water & Sewer Division, provides water for about 58,732 residents living in the area of Brookline, Massachusetts. Established in 1705, the Town of Brookline Water And Sewer Division is currently obtaining its supply via purchase directly from the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA), a public water and sewer services wholesaler, which comes from surface water sources: Quabbin and Wachusett Reservoirs. Water from Ware River can also add to the supply when the demand arises.
