The City of Brea Water, a public community water system under the City Department of Public Works - Water Services Division, provides water for about 43,328 residents living in the area of Brea, California. Established in 1917, the City of Brea Water Division System is currently obtaining its supply via purchase from the California Domestic Water Company (Cal Domestic), which supplies the City with treated groundwater (Main San Gabriel Groundwater Basin); and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWDSC), which supplies treated imported surface water (Colorado River and the State Water Project).
