Lomita has multiple water providers: Cal Water - Rancho Dominguez and City Of Lomita Water. This page provides information about City Of Lomita Water.

The Lomita City Water Department provides water for about 20,715 residents living in the Lomita area, California. Established in 1964, the Lomita City Water Department collects supply purchased from Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD). MWD supplies the City with water treated at the Weymouth Treatment Plant. Most of the water treated at this plant travels down the Colorado River and flows through MWD’s 242-mile Colorado River Aqueduct. Some MWD water also comes from Northern California rivers and streams that feed the State Water Project's 444-mile California Aqueduct.
