The Port Hueneme Water Department provides water for about 22,327 residents living in the Hueneme area, California. Established in 1948, the Port Hueneme Water Department purchases from Port Hueneme Water Agency (PHWA) via the United Water Conservation District (United), and Calleguas Municipal Water District (Calleguas). United’s water comes from pumped from shallow wells drilled into the Oxnard and Fox Canyon aquifers while Calleguas receives water from Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) from both the State Water Project and Colorado River supply.
