The City of Prescott Water, a public community water system under the City Department of Public Works – Water Operations Division, provides water for about 43,217 residents living in the area of Prescott, Arizona. Established in 1881, the City of Prescott Water System is currently obtaining its supply from a groundwater source, seven production wells within the Prescott Active Management Area (AMA) that pump water from the confined Lower Volcanic Unit of the aquifer underlying the Little Chino Sub-Basin.
