The Dartmouth Water Division provides water for about 24,272 residents living in the Dartmouth area, Massachusetts. Established in 1664, the Dartmouth Water Division collects water from a combination of ground water and surface water sources. The groundwater is from 14 ground water, gravel-packed, or naturally developed wells, and one pumping station. The surface water is purchased from New Bedford Water comprised of five ponds: Little Quittacass Pond, Great Quittacas, Pocksha, Assawomsett, and Long Pond.
