The Dedham-Westwood Water District (DWWD), a public community water system, provides water for about 42,581 residents living in the area of Dedham, Massachusetts. Established in 1986, the Dedham Westwood Water District System is currently obtaining its supply from local groundwater sources, 17 wells - six in Westwood by the Neponset River and Rock Meadow Brook and 11 wells by the Charles River in Dedham. The District also has emergency water connections with Boston, Norwood, Needham and the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA).
