The Eastern Municipal Water District supplies water for more than 825,000 people living in western Riverside County, California, including the cities of Temecula, Moreno Valley, Murrieta, and others. Founded in 1950, the Eastern Municipal Water District sources 75% of its water through the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (including the Colorado River Aqueduct) and 25% from local groundwater wells.
