The City of Framingham Water Division, under the City Department of Public Works, provides water for about 68,318 residents living in the area of Framingham, Massachusetts. Established in 1700, the City of Framingham Water Division currently obtains its supply via purchase directly from the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA). MWRA water comes from surface water sources: Quabbin and Wachusett Reservoirs. Water from Ware River can also add to the supply when the demand arises.
