The Gardner Water Department, a public community water system under the City Water/Sewer Department, provides water for about 19,418 residents living in the area of Gardner, Massachusetts. Established in 1923, the Gardner Water Department System is currently obtaining its supply from a blend of sources: surface water from the Cowee Pond, Perley Brook, and Crystal Lake, all of which are located in Gardner; and groundwater from Snake Pond Well Treatment to help with seasonal water demand.
