Greencastle Area Franklin County Water Authority, a public water supply services authority, provides water to about 5,500 residents living in south-central Pennsylvania's Franklin County, which includes the borough of Greencastle. Founded in 1782, the Greencastle Area Franklin County Water Authority System currently obtains its supply from various groundwater sources: Moss Spring, located on Giant Street; Long Lane's Eshelman-Spangler Spring and Wells 1 and 2; Molly Pitcher Highway South's Ebberts Spring; and Well #4, located at Leitersburg Street.
