The Hazleton City Authority – Hazleton Division, a public community water system under the City Water Department, provides water for about 52,000 residents living in the area of Hazleton, Pennsylvania. Established in 1941, the Hazleton City Authority - Roan Filter Plant is currently obtaining its supply from surface waters from the Roan Reservoir, which receive waters from the Stony Cabin Creek, Wolfe’s Run, and Quakake and Dreck Creek Reservoirs. The intakes of these reservoirs are located in the Lehigh River watershed of the Delaware River Basin and Susquehanna River Basin in Luzerne County.
