Hilmar County Water District (HCWD), a public community water system under the local government, provides water to about 5,416 residents living in Hilmar, Merced County, California. Founded in 1965, Hilmar County Water District System currently obtains its supply from groundwater sources, primarily Woody Well and Jake Well, which drill approximately 330 feet into the aquifer underneath the area with a sanitary seal in the first 150 feet of the well column and pump over 310 million gallons annually for both wells.
