Hopkinton Water Department, a public community water system under the City Department of Public Works, provides water to about 10,152 residents living in Hopkinton, a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Founded in 1715, the Hopkinton Water Department System currently obtains its supply from groundwater sources, primarily eight wells that drill into the aquifer underneath the area. Additionally, Wells #1, #2, and #3 are close to Fruit Street; #4 and #5, also known as the Pond Street wells, are off Pond Street close to the Whitehall Reservoir; Well #6 is off Fruit Street, and #7 and #8 are off Alprilla Farm Road.
