Indian Creek Valley Water Authority, a public community water system under the local government, provides water to about 7,000 residents living in Indian Head in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1965, the Indian Creek Valley Water Authority System currently obtains its supply from mixed sources: four surface water treatment plants, namely: Pritts Spring, Grimm Spring, Neats Run Well, and the Mill Run Reservoir, are the four sources of water that the Water Authority maintains. On the other hand, the main groundwater sources are the two springs and the well, which are situated along the western flank of Laurel Ridge and are referred to as groundwater directly influenced by surface water. Saltlick Township's Neals Run Well is situated at the base of Laurel Mountain. Only a seasonally available source, the Mill Run Reservoir treatment facility is situated in Springfield Township along Indian Creek.
