Lansford Coaldale Joint Water Authority is a public community water system under the local government that provides water to about 9,300 residents living in Lansford, a county-border borough in Carbon County, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1950, Lansford Coaldale Joint Water Authority System currently obtains its supply from groundwater sources, primarily eight wells that drill into the aquifer with depths ranging from 230 to 650 feet located in the Lake Hauto section of Nesquehoning. From the wet well, water is treated at the chemical treatment plant and stored in one of our two storage tanks located at the top of Hauto Mountain with a combined water storage tank capacity of two million gallons.
