The Lehighton Water Authority provides water services to about 9,000 people living in the Lehighton area of Carbon County. The Lehighton Water Authority collects water from Long Run Reservoir and Pine Run in Franklin Township and an additional supply from the Lehigh River in the Packerton area. The surface water is treated at the Lehighton Water Authority Filtration Plant to produce potable water for the residents.
