The Longmeadow Water Department, a public community water system under the Town Department of Public Works - Water/Wastewater Operations, provides water for about 15,049 residents living in the area of Longmeadow, a town in Hampden County, Massachusetts. Established in 1783, the Longmeadow Water System is currently obtaining its supply of surface water via purchase from the City of Springfield Water and Sewer Commission, which draws water from the Cobble Mountain Reservoir, located in Western Massachusetts; and from Borden Brook Reservoir, a smaller surface water supply that feeds into Cobble Mountain Reservoir in Granville.
