The City of Malden Water, under the City Department of Public Works - Water Utilities Division, provides water for about 59,450 residents living in the area of Malden, Massachusetts. Established in 1649, the City of Malden Department of Water Utilities (DWU) is currently obtaining its supply via purchase directly from the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA), which comes from surface water sources: Quabbin and Wachusett Reservoirs. Water from Ware River can also add to the supply when the demand arises.

Consumer Confidence Water Quality Reports

At WaterZen, we review these reports and make the information available, in a concise, straightforward, and easy-to-understand way.

Lead Report (2020)

D-

WaterZen Rating

Lead levels in the drinking water of some cities across the United States are too high, potentially creating public-health issues for the people living in those areas.

What about Malden DPW? How much lead is in your drinking water? And how do those levels compare to other cities in the state? We examined data from hundreds of cities across the nation to understand and grade your water quality.

As you can see, Malden DPW received a below-average grade because the amounts of contaminants found in the water supply were higher than most other water providers we've analyzed.
