The Town of Manchester-By-The-Sea Water provides water services to about 5,261 residents in the Manchester-by-the-Sea area in Essex County. The Manchester Public Water System supplies water from the Gravelly Pond Water Treatment Facility and Lincoln Street Well Water Treatment Facility, which receive water from the Gravelly Pond Reservoir supplemented by Round Pond Well on Chebacco Road in Hamilton and a 58-foot-deep Lincoln Street Well near Manchester/Essex Regional Junior/Senior High School on Lincoln Street. The water undergoes oxidation, coagulation, pH adjustment, clarification, filtration, fluoridation, disinfection, and corrosion control to improve its quality before distribution.
