The water is purchased from the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and pumped from Yosemite National Park's Hetch Hetchy reservoir to Menlo Park via the San Francisco Regional Water System. Most of the regional water system's water comes from the Tuolumne River watershed and the remaining come from local watersheds in the East Bay and Peninsula.
