The Moulton Niguel Water (MNWD) provides water for about 171,346 residents living in the Laguna Niguel area, and the rest of South Orange County. Moulton Niguel Water District spans the Cities of Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, Mission Viejo, Dana Point, and San Juan Capistrano. Established in 1960, the Moulton Niguel Water District relies on imported water from Metropolitan Water District (MWD) through the Colorado River Aqueduct (from Colorado River basin) and the Northern California’s State Water Project.
