The Mount Joy Borough Authority, a public community water system under the Local Government, provides water for about 14,150 residents living in Mount Joy, a borough in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Established in 1851, the Mount Joy Borough Authority System currently obtains its supply of groundwater from two separate facilities, two wells comes from Donegal Creek Drainage Basin, along with the Carmany Road Treatment plant located in East Donegal Township and a third well pump from Chiques Creek watershed located in Mount Joy Borough, supplies the South Jacob Street Treatment plant located in East Donegal Township. In addition, there is one (1) booster pumping station and three (3) water storage tanks.
