The Town of Needham Water, under the Town Department of Public Works, provides water for about 32,485 residents living in the area of Needham, Massachusetts. Established in 1889, the Town of Needham Water Division currently obtains its supply from a groundwater source, three groundwater wells drawing from the Charles River Wellfield. The Town also imports water from the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority (MWRA) when the demand arises. MWRA uses surface water from the Quabbin and Wachusett Reservoirs.
