The Norwalk City Municipal Water System (NMWS), a public community water system under the City Department of Public Services, provides water for about 12,794 residents living in the area of Norwalk, California. Established in 1957, the Norwalk City Municipal Water System is currently obtaining its supply from a blend of sources: groundwater from local deep wells; and purchased water via the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s (MWD) which is surface water from both the Colorado River and the State Water Project in northern California.
