The Norwell Water Department, a public community water system under the local government, provides water to about 11,493 residents living in Norwell, a town in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. Founded in 1849, Norwell Water Department System currently obtains its supply from groundwater sources, primarily ten wells that drill into the aquifer underneath the area situated in four well fields. South Street Well Field consists of Wells #1 and #6 and is filtered at the South Street Treatment Plant. The Groove Street Well Field consists of Wells # 2, #3, #5, and #10. The Washington Street Well Field consists of Wells #4, #7, and #8. The Bowker Street Well Field, a low-yield source has Well#9. Three storage tanks and about 90 miles of water main are part of the water system
